Data Deletion

Last Updated: March 27, 2026

Important: Journex does not store any of your data on our servers. All data is stored locally on your device and optionally synced to your personal Google Drive account.

We Don't Store Your Data

Journex is designed with complete privacy in mind. We (the developers) do not collect, store, or have access to any of your personal data. Your journal entries, notes, tasks, and all other information remain entirely under your control.

Google Drive Sync

If you have enabled Google Drive sync, your data is stored in your personal Google Drive account — not on our servers. We never have access to your Google Drive data. You maintain full ownership and control of all synced information.

How to Delete Your Data

Since we don't store your data, deletion is entirely in your control. Follow these steps to completely remove all data associated with Journex:

  1. Delete Google Drive Data (if sync is enabled): Open Google Drive, locate the "JournalAppBackup" or "JournalingAppMedia" folder, and delete it. This removes all synced data from your Google Drive.
  2. Revoke App Access: Go to your Google Account settings → Security → "Third-party apps with account access" and remove Journex's access. This ensures the app can no longer access your Google Drive.
  3. Delete Local Data: Uninstall Journex from your device (Android, Windows, macOS, or Linux). This will remove all locally stored data including journal entries, notes, tasks, and settings.

Data Deletion is Immediate

Once you complete the steps above, all your data is permanently deleted. There is no recovery process because we never stored your data on our servers in the first place.
